Who is the Favorite Daughter?
Sara Lohse
Founder and President
I got my start in the creative department of an advertising agency, where I learned the art of blending clever wordplay with strategy to create award-winning marketing campaigns. One of my first lessons? Even retirement communities can shine with the right pun.
From there, my journey took an unexpected leap into personal finance. As the director of marketing for a financial advising firm, I turned a conventional role into a platform for change, using my marketing budget to create free financial literacy resources for the public. That initiative sparked something bigger: a co-founded educational media company dedicated to spreading quality financial literacy through books, articles, webinars, and podcasts. Along the way, I earned my certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor to expand my expertise and bring even more value to the audiences I served.
I became the executive producer of a personal finance podcast, traveling the country to attend conferences, meet creators, and learn what I thought I already knew.
Over the next year, I began partnering with financial firms to coach their marketing teams, refine their content, and expand their PR efforts. My clients trust me to develop their brand voice, craft stories that resonate, and get them booked on podcasts to share their message with the world.
In 2022, I launched Favorite Daughter Media to merge everything I’ve learned—creativity, strategy, and storytelling—into a business that empowers mission-driven brands to amplify their voices. I coach marketing teams, craft brand strategies, create content, and get my clients booked on podcasts to share their stories.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned through all of this, it’s that I’m happiest when I’m creating. Whether I’m writing a book, producing a podcast, hosting a webinar, or designing a campaign, creativity fuels me (that, and way too much caffeine).
Because here’s the thing: My brain works a little differently than most people’s—and I’ve come to see that as my superpower. I see stories where others see stats, connections where others see chaos, and opportunities where others see limitations.
I am me. I am a creator. I am a storyteller. And I’m about to be your favorite daughter.
