Using My Outside Voice on WomenShare

Being a guest on any podcast is a great experience for me, but this one was extra special.

Leah and Joanna came to me months ago with an idea for a podcast that would elevate the voices of women in financial services and share marketing wisdom they’ve gathered throughout their careers.

I was honored to be asked not only to produce this show, but to be a guest and share my insights about podcasting for business growth, my journey in financial services, and my advice for women in the industry.

Here are 3 key takeaways from our conversation:

1️⃣ Branded podcasts and podcast guesting: Two strategies, one goal – Growing your business through podcasts can be achieved by either launching your own branded podcast or being a guest on other podcasts. Branded podcasts help establish thought leadership and connect with listeners, while podcast guesting allows professionals to share their value and insights on different platforms.

2️⃣ Building trust and credibility: Trust plays a crucial role in the financial services industry, and podcasts are an excellent strategy for building trust with your audience. By sharing authentic stories, experiences, and insights through podcasting, listeners can connect with you on a deeper level, enhancing your credibility and establishing a strong foundation of trust.

3️⃣ Passion and authenticity matter:  I share the importance of using your “outside voice” and being loud and passionate about the topics you care about. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, embracing your authentic self and standing up for what you believe in early in your career is vital. I also recommended “Show Your Work” by Austin Kleon as an insightful resource for aspiring thought leaders.

I hope you’ll listen and support this fantastic show.
